If you observe the habits of successful people and their counterparts, you will see a stark contrast. When unsuccessful people reach their goals, they become satisfied with their work. There’s no problem with someone being satisfied with your work. That being said, staying in a state of satisfaction after you reach your goals is something that keeps people in their current state.
Successful people keep pushing
The thing that kills people is the pride they feel when they reach their goals. They get so caught up in their success that they forget that there are still new things to explore, new things to conquer. Take Elon Musk for example. Elon Musk’s accomplishments rival the likes of Bill Gates and Henry Ford. In the midst of all of his accomplishments, he keeps pushing. He could have stopped working when he founded Paypal, but he didn’t stop. Now his influence and wealth rival some of the best in history.
If you stay satisfied, you stay stagnant
There’s nothing wrong with stopping and smelling the roses, that’s actually what you want to go. Not stopping by and relaxing for a bit is something that will cause you to burn out quickly. The problem most of the time is, the fact that people don’t want to leave once they smell the roses. They want to bask in the glow of their work forever. This leaves them in a state of stagnation that keeps them from growing to high heights.
Through success and failure keep moving forward
The problem with many people as they journey to success, is the fact that they get stuck. When they fail, they wallow in their defeat, they get scared to get back into the world and try it all over again. On the other hand, when they reach some level of success, they stay stagnant in their pride. Through everything keep moving forward. When you fall to your lowest lows and reach your highest heights keep moving forward. Through all the success and all the failure, you have to keep it pushing, you have to keep moving forward.
Keep Moving Forward
Keep pushing to reach higher heights
When a shark tastes a fish’s blood, it attacks as hard as it possibly can. Be that shark. When you taste a little bit of that success, that’s when you want to strive for greatness, that’s when you need to fight harder than you ever have before. Taste the fish’s blood, and then keep pushing, keep pushing. Reach your highest heights, smell the roses, and then push again, keep pushing to reach your highest heights. Go higher, be smarter, run faster, the only thing you have to do is keep pushing. You’ll find a way, as long as you never give up.
